6th graders
have been working on their Composer Presentations which they will be sharing in class next week.  Each group of 3 has been assigned a composer.  The presentations will include sound clips from famous works by their composer.  Background information will be presented including nationality, musical era, education, etc.

5th graders just finished watching Selma, Lord Selma which is an inspiring Disney presentation that captures significant events in the struggle for civil rights. The students became familiar with several freedom songs and the people who fought to bring about change in our nation.

4th Grade - Students are learning to recognize chord changes in music. They're discerning differences between major and minor modes. They're been working on singing, playing, echoing, and moving to short long short rhythmic patterns.

1st graders are learning to tell the difference between same and different pitches and to identify the ways melodies move.  They continue to work on singing independently with accurate pitches.  They are listening for dynamic changes in music and are learning about ABA form.
