Hello,
My name is Mr. Skeels, and I am thrilled to be your fifth grade teacher!  I am so excited to be back at St. Stan's... this time as a teacher.  I grew up in Winona in a family of five.  My parents are Paul and Sheila Skeels.  My dad works for Benchmark, and my mom works for Winona Health.  I have an older brother, Andy, who is married and lives in Philadelphia.  My younger sister, Emily, recently graduated from the U of M.  All five of us went through the Catholic schools in Winona. My siblings and I all graduated from WACS and Cotter.

I graduated from Winona State University in 2012 with a degree in elementary education (K-8) with emphases in both math and science.  It is there that I met my wife, Kelley.  You might know her as Mrs. Skeels, the fourth grade teacher.  Before teaching at St. Stan's, I taught for two years at St. Boniface Catholic School in Waumandee, Wisconsin.  There, I had the opportunity to teach in a multi-age classroom.  I continue to use what I learned there to reach a diverse group of learners.

As I said, I grew up here in Winona, and as a result, I spend a ton of time outdoors.  I enjoy hiking with Mrs. Skeels and our dog Riley!  We all enjoy a day out on the Mississippi River together.  Another passion of ours is travel. We love to learn about new places and see how people live around the world. We spend a lot of time near Chicago, where we visit Mrs. Skeels's family.

I look forward to working with you all!  Know that you are always welcome to our classroom!
